Week 6 NFL Picks

Tough week when it came to NFL picks as there were several blunders down the stretch in these games -- most notably the Cardinals blowing a two score lead on home field in the 4th quarter. It's time to get back on the horse this week with some winners, let's dive into the Week 5 game picks.

**All betting lines from bet365.com** (Updated Oct. 9)

Philadelphia Eagles (4-1) @ New York Giants (1-4)

The Eagles were comfortably controlling last week's game against the Broncos and then completely took their foot off the gas in the 4th quarter, being overtaken on a late touchdown and two-point convert. It was uncharacteristic of this Eagles team and I think they'll get back on track here against the lesser Giants. Pick: Eagles, 26-16.

Line: Eagles -7.5

ML: Eagles

Spread: Eagles

Denver Broncos (3-2) @ New York Jets (0-5)

Another overseas game in the NFL, and truthfully, it's hard to predict how these will go. The Broncos are the deeper team and it will be up to the Jets' defense to rise to the occasion to match the energy of the Broncos. I would imagine Sean Payton will try to get Bo Nix out wide using his legs to keep this Jets team on its heels. Pick: Broncos, 24-16.

Line: Broncos -7

ML: Broncos

Spread: Broncos

Los Angeles Rams (3-2) @ Baltimore Ravens (1-4)

The Ravens are extremely beat up on both sides of the ball and any time you're missing your best player, it's on the rest of the team to step up. They just can't seem to get Derrick Henry the same space that he's used to and until Lamar Jackson is back in this lineup, the Ravens are going to be in tough. Pick: Rams, 28-17.

Line: Rams -7.5

ML: Rams

Spread: Rams

Dallas Cowboys (2-2-1) @ Carolina Panthers (2-3)

This Cowboys offense is operating at a high level right now and if their defense can slow some teams down like they managed against the Jets last week, they'll get back into the playoff conversation. I think you'll see Dak Prescott call George Pickens' number a lot this week. Pick: Cowboys, 30-23.

Line: Cowboys -3

ML: Cowboys

Spread: Cowboys

Arizona Cardinals (2-3) @ Indianapolis Colts (4-1)

It looks like the Cardinals will be without Kyler Murray for this game and that will put added pressure on their run game. The Colts seems to be building something special this season, which reminds me of the Vikings' experiment with Sam Darnold last season. Look for Jonathan Taylor to have a standout day. Pick: Colts, 27-17.

Line: Colts -7.5

ML: Colts

Spread: Colts

Seattle Seahawks (3-2) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (4-1)

This is a tough game to pick, especially after the Jags came back and beat the Chiefs in primetime last week. The weather appears to be rainy for this matchup, so that leans towards the Seahawks who have the depth in the background for these situations. Sam Darnold just needs to protect the ball, and the Seahawks can come away with a big road win here. Pick: Seahawks, 23-20.

Line: Jaguars -1

ML: Seahawks

Spread: Seahawks

Los Angeles Chargers (3-2) @ Miami Dolphins (1-4)

The Chargers have dropped two in a row after three straight divisional wins and I would put this game in must-win territory early in the season. They need to get some momentum back and this should be a spot where they can insert their toughness at the line of scrimmage against a weaker Dolphins team. Pick: Chargers, 24-17.

Line: Chargers -4

ML: Chargers

Spread: Chargers

Cleveland Browns (1-4) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1)

The Browns have done some shuffling under center and Dillon Gabriel is set to make his second straight start. This has the makings for a defensive battle, with the Browns being Top 5 statistically and having no troubles getting to the quarterback. Look for this to be a classic AFC North grind of a game. Pick: Steelers, 23-16.

Line: Steelers -5.5

ML: Steelers

Spread: Steelers

New England Patriots (3-2) @ New Orleans Saints (1-4)

The Pats stunned the Bills at home on primetime and put the rest of the AFC East on notice last week. Mike Vrabel's team is playing with a lot of confidence and they now have an opportunity to walk into New Orleans and keep pace in the division. Pick: Patriots, 24-15.

Line: Patriots -3.5

ML: Patriots

Spread: Patriots

Tennessee Titans (1-4) @ Las Vegas Raiders (1-4)

This is a bit of a stinker of a game and what's surprising has been Geno Smith's play so far this season. The Raiders seemed destined for a Top 10 pick and you have to wonder if they will be targeting a quarterback in next year's draft to compete with the veteran. Pick: Raiders, 24-17.

Line: Raiders -4

ML: Raiders

Spread: Raiders

San Francisco 49ers (4-1) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-1)

There are plenty of injuries on both teams heading into this game and Brock Purdy will sit out once again for the 49ers, while the Bucs will be without some key receivers. I think Mac Jones has been great in relief, but I'm expecting Todd Bowles to dial up some pressure that will force him into a key mistake that could decide this game. Pick: Buccaneers, 24-20.

Line: Buccaneers -3

ML: Buccaneers

Spread: Buccaneers

Cincinnati Bengals (2-3) @ Green Bay Packers (2-1-1)

This Bengals team is really a shell of their former selves without Joe Burrow in the lineup and it's been so bad under Jake Browning that they've gone out and acquired Joe Flacco to make this week's start. This should be a laugher in Green Bay, but Flacco is a wily veteran and I wouldn't be surprised if the Bengals hang around in this game. Pick: Packers, 29-21.

Line: Packers -14

ML: Packers

Spread: Bengals

Detroit Lions (4-1) @ Kansas City Chiefs (2-3)

This should be a great game and I anticipate the Chiefs playing with a lot of desperation to fight their way back into the AFC playoff picture. The Lions have won four straight and the train doesn't show any signs of slowing down, but I'm banking on the Chiefs pulling out all the stops to get the victory. Pick: Chiefs, 27-24.

Line: Chiefs -2

ML: Chiefs

Spread: Chiefs

Buffalo Bills (4-1) @ Atlanta Falcons (2-2)

I was inclined to take the home side here this week, but they will be without some key players offensively and the Bills should be playing with a chip on their shoulders after last week's loss to the Pats. Josh Allen needs to lead the way and play at an MVP level to get this team back on track. Pick: Bills, 27-20.

Line: Bills -4.5

ML: Bills

Spread: Bills

Chicago Bears (2-2) @ Washington Commanders (3-2)

This is a rematch of a thriller from last year that saw the Commanders win on a last second Hail Mary. This time around, they will be without Jayden Daniels' top target in Terry McLaurin, so expect him to use his legs more often than not against this Bears defense. Pick: Commanders, 24-21.

Line: Commanders -4.5

ML: Commanders

Spread: Bears
